The parklet.

10 years of breaking new ground.

The parklet.

A parklet is defined as a public space that takes over the footprint of one or more parking bays and utilises this area for public use. Our parklet on Regent Road, Sea Point was a collaboration between Our Future Cities, GAPP Architects, Cameron Barnes Furniture and ourselves. It provided ample seating, shade, bicycle parking and free Wi-Fi (sponsored by us) for all.

An average of 50 people a day are used the parklet as a safe, comfortable and productive space on a busy Regent Road, where they could stay for as long as they chose. From grannies with groceries, nannies with prams to students, professionals and people who work in the area, the parklet was well utilised, catered to a wide array of users from different walks of life. Since the parklet’s time in Sea Point, it’s moved to town and then even the V&A Waterfront. As a mobile kit, the location options are endless.

Blok is more than a property brand.
It’s an opportunity to rediscover urban living.

We believe that good design has the power to change lives. It is form and function living seamlessly together. Inspired by art, nature and fashion, we apply our learning to every facet of the Blok experience. From our brand to our spaces and buildings, we strive to create design that is as beautiful as it is practical.
