This week we held the official roof wetting for FORTY ON L.

Perched at the top of Bo-Kaap, FORTY ON L will house 70 apartments finished with our new Blok Raw interior elements that include screed flooring, exposed concrete ceilings and lighting, as well as bagged brick walls. Paying homage to the technicolour Bo-Kaap neighbourhood, a splash of colour will be added to each apartment. What's more, to limit the use of doors and cupboards in favour of maximising volume, the fittings will be mostly open and modular.

FORTY ON L's apartments will offer panoramic cityscape views, and the building will boast shared spaces such as a wellness studio as well as entertainment deck and swimming pool with unrivalled views of Cape Town's harbour, City Bowl and the mountains that encase it. It's also just a short walk to bustling Bree Street where you can enjoy an eclectic combination of galleries, bistros and bars.

Scheduled for occupation next spring, FORTY ON L's homes will be fitted with water-saving sanitary ware and, due to water harvesting on site and the acquisition of our own desalination plant, are currently being constructed independently of the City's water supply, contributing to a more sustainable construction programme.
